The BEST popcorn

Although popcorn isn’t the best for the ‘ol paleo way of eating, it sure is delicious and makes a nice every once in a while treat. It should be noted that you want to purchase organic non-GMO popcorn. (Corn, soy, and wheat are the bigges for having GMO’s)
And PUH-lease skip the microwave, eek! This recipe is so easy and much much better for you than the toxic load that comes in the the microwave stuff. I googled the ingredient list for the flavored microwave bags…are you ready? Here ya go:

INGREDIENTS: Popcorn Orville Redenbacher’s Gourmet Popping Corn, Palm Oil, Salt, Freshness Preserved with TBHQ and Citric Acid. Pouch Ranch Seasoning, [Buttermilk, Salt, Tomato Powder, Monosodium Glutamate, Cornstarch, Sugar, Whey, Sodium Diacetate, Onion Powder, Citric Acid, Garlic Powder, Spices, Cheddar Cheese (Cultured Milk, Salt, Enzymes), Lactic Acid, Natural Flavor and Artificial Flavors, Disodium Inosinate and Disodium Guanylate, Canola Oil, Artificial Color (Including Titanium Dioxide, FD&C Red 40, FD&C Blue 2 and FD&C Yellow 5) Maltodextrin, Disodium Phosphate, Less Than (2%) Silicon Dioxide Added as an Anticaking Agent], Buttermilk Powder, Salt, Onion Powder, Natural Flavoring, Modified Cornstarch, Tomato Powder, Citric Acid, Spice and Herb, Disodium Guanylate, Disodium Inosinate, Spice and Coloring, Artificial Color, FD&C Blue 1, FD&C Red 40.

The BEST Popcorn


  • 3 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 C organic popcorn kernels
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • Herbamare to taste


  1. Heat the coconut oil in a 3 quart saucepan and drop in 3 kernels. Wait.
  2. When they have popped add the remaining kernels and watch carefully until the popping stops.
  3. Remove from heat and transfer to a large bowl.
  4. Toss with nutritional yeast and herbamare to taste. Yum!
